KUPANG NTT - Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, issued Governor Regulation, Number 56 Year 2018 Regarding Day of English Language.

The regulation is ordered to support tourism as a leading sector in the island-based province.

"According to the direction of the Governor, today we announce that starting tomorrow Wednesday, all NTT people will use English and this has a legal base," NTT Tourism Office Chief Marius Ardu Jelamu said in a press conference with reporters in Kupang on Tuesday ( 29 / 1/2019).

According to Marius, English will be used by all NTT people, one day a week, which is every Wednesday.

The purpose of this regulation was continued by Marius, to make the English language of the communication media in the office and daily life activities throughout the NTT region.

English language competence for the State Civil Apparatus, private employees and all components of the NTT community and also to prepare NTT human resources who are competent in using English in communicating.

"This is also in order to familiarize. This English has many values ​​and uses." This is an international language that we must master, "Marius said.

"At present NTT tourism is growing well, so tourism key sectors of economic development going forward," said Marius.

Marius hopes that the major and regents throughout NTT, high-level leaders, secondary schools, religious institutions, hotels, restaurants, will speak English once a week.
