TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The high cleric of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Rizieq Shihab, again appeared in the public. This time, he was seen on a video uploaded by the official Twitter account of Prabowo-Sandi National Volunteer led by Eggi Sudjana, @pas_rn.

On the video, Rizieq stated that he was with Indonesian citizens living in Mecca. He led dozens of people calling for the #2019ChangePresident movement.

“From Jabal Rahmah al Mukarromah [Mecca], we are a big family of Indonesian citizens who are in Mecca, God willing, together calling for the 2019ChangePresident,” said Rizieq, followed by cheers of “2019ChangePresident” by those around him and then shouted Takbir.

The video uploaded on January 1 at 12:14 pm showed Rizieq surrounded by adults and children. There appeared a poster that read “2019ChangePresident” held by several people.

The chairman of the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212) Slamet Maarif confirmed that the person who was leading the 2019ChangePresident appeal was indeed Rizieq Shihab.

“Na'am (yes), (the video was taken) about two weeks ago,” he said.
