Saudi Gazette report

The Foreign ministers and chiefs of staff of the member states of the Arab Coalition supporting the legitimacy in Yemen called upon the United Nations to revise its and fact-finding tools and mechanisms in the wake of a false report on the children in armed conflict.

In a communique released at the end of their meeting in Riyadh on Sunday evening, they rejected parts of the report of the UN secretary general as it contains false information and expressed strong reservation on the report.

At the same time, they lauded parts of the report, which hailed measures taken by the Coalition in protecting civilians, said Col. Turki Al-Malki, spokesman of the Coalition Forces in a press conference.

Ambassador Osama Naqli, chairman of the Media Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also attended the press conference.

Al-Malki said the meeting strongly denounced the negative role played by Iran in Yemen by supporting the coup militias with weapons, ammunition, ballistic missiles and mines which represent flagrant violations of the Security Council Resolution no. 2216, stressing that the Iranian regime and its machinery are responsible for destabilizing the security in the region.

The minsters and military officials condemned the militia’s killing of the Yemeni people and exposing them to famine, fear, and diseases.

They also slammed the militia’s attempt to tamper with the capabilities of the Yemeni people and threaten the security and stability of the countries in the region, particularly Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, in addition to obstructing maritime navigation in Bab Al Mandab, one of the most important water crossings in the world.

Al-Malki said the meeting stressed the importance of countering the hostile practices carried out by the coup militias, and reemphasized their standing by the Yemeni legitimacy, security, unity, stability and territorial integrity in addition to protecting the Yemeni people from the militia’s continuous violations. They also underlined the need for confronting Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations.

The meeting slammed the flagrant violations of the sanctity of the Islamic holy sites such as targeting Makkah with a missile attack, an act condemned by the Muslim world.

They also condemned the coup militias’ criminal acts, such as abusing children in armed conflicts in addition to imposing siege on cities and looting humanitarian aid, which led to epidemics and famine among the civilians.

While lauding the great humanitarian role provided by the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center, the ministers and officials reiterated their countries’ full commitment to continue providing humanitarian relief assistance to the Yemeni people.
