Souta Tawara is a 30 year old man working as a web designer in Tokyo. In the past, he had left his family's Udon place in his hometown Kagawa Prefecture, thinking it was lame and uncool. He briefly returns to his hometown in order to clean up his house and now-closed Udon place. Unexpectedly, he discovers a small child sleeping inside a large cauldron at his family's Udon place and learns of the child's secret.

After a series of events, Souta names the child Poko and decides to return to Kagawa in order to live with Poko.

Poko is a mysterious young boy who was first seen sleeping inside an old, large cauldron at now-closed Tawara family's Udon place by Souta Tawara. When Poko woke up and saw Souta, he became startled and ran away from him while holding with a bag of flour. However, Poko soon becomes fond of Souta, who kindly makes Udon for the hungry young boy. Now, Poko lives together with Souta at his old family house in Kagawa.
