General Dynamics expects to have a jet propellant (JP) fuel version of its Multi-Utility Tactical Transport (MUTT) unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) available in around the middle of 2015, but is ready to launch full production of an electric version, the company revealed at the Association of the US Army (AUSA) 2014 annual conference in Washington, DC.

General Dynamics programme manager of robotic products, Daniel Rodgers, said the current vehicle, operating only on lithium batteries, has a range of 24 km but with the addition of a JP fuel cell would be able to achieve 120 km.
The vehicle has a kerb weight of 375 kg and can carry a maximum payload of 300 kg.
