Sony Akhiri Dukungan Software beberapa Xperia seri 2012

Pagi2 buka Facebook, ada yg ngepost berita ini gan.
Nggak terlalu terkejut sih, emang strategi marketingnya Sony biar yg model baru pada laku, padahal yg model lama juga bagus2

Sony Akhiri Dukungan Update Software untuk Xperia Ini -- Kabar ini tentu tak menyenangkan bagi para pengguna sejumlah ponsel pintar Xperia. Ya, Sony Mobile menyatakan akan menghentikan dukungan pembaruan perangkat lunak untuk Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia go, Xperia P, Xperia J, Xperia miro, Xperia tipo, Xperia U, dan Xperia arc S.
Ponsel pintar yang rata-rata diproduksi pada 2012 itu telah berusia antara 18 bulan hingga dua tahun. Sebagian besar di antaranya tidak diproduksi lagi dan sangat langka diperoleh di pasaran.
"(Smartphone) itu tidak akan menerima pembaruan perangkat lunak apa pun di kemudian hari," tulis Sony di laman Support Sony Mobile.
Keputusan Sony untuk menghentikan dukungan pembaruan perangkat lunak itu, sebut xperiablog.net, disebabkan oleh sejumlah hal. Selain karena ponsel tersebut sudah berusia lama --antara 18 bulan hingga dua tahun, juga disebabkan oleh dukungan pembaruan driver dari pembuat chip.
Tentu, keputusan Sony ini menimbulkan kesedihan bagi pengguna Xperia tersebut. Apalagi, Xperia S, acro S, SL, dan ion merupakan smartphone yang memiliki spesifikasi yang terbilang tinggi. Saat ini, mereka hanya mentok di Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

Sony has begun updating its support pages for the Xperia smartphones released in the year 2012. All of those pages list Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the smartphones "latest and final version".
There are only three droids from this lineup, which fate is still uncertain - the Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V. Sony says their KitKat update is "under investigation". So there is still hope for those three, but given the fate of their siblings chances aren't too great.

The 2012 Xperia phones to be left stuck forever on Ice Cream Sandwich are: Xperia U, Xperia tipo (and tipo dual), Xperia sola, Xperia miro, and Xperia arc S. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be the last for Xperia SL, Xperia ion, Xperia acro S, Xperia J, Xperia go, Xperia S, and Xperia P.

We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for all Xperia T, TX and V owners. We guess the rest should turn to some third-party developers for newer Android releases.

We appreciate that Sony Mobile is now providing some transparency over when software support for a phone has ceased. At least it avoids people hoping and wishing for an update. You will notice that Sony has begun to update some of the support pages for the above mentioned phones under the Android version overview, which says “Latest & final version” for the phones where software support has ended.
We can imagine that this may upset some customers, but looking at it objectively, if you are one of those affected, how long did you expect software support to last? Do you think support ended too soon for your phone?
Padahal Xperia S, P, Go termasuk salah satu favorit konsumen, sayang banget
Sony udah mulai menunjukkan dari Xperia Sola (HH ane gan), official Jellybean nggak keluar, meskipun ada yg buat CusROM nya port dari Xperia lain sih.
Tapi tetep aja, kalo nggak official gimanaa gitu
