"He’s an absolutely tragic keeper. He really doesn’t do anything well. No matter who we play, he almost always finds a way to cost us goals. He doesn’t command his area. He’s not agile. His fundamental skills are poor. His positioning is weak. He constantly parries shots back into danger. He makes a huge number of errors leading directly to goals. It’s clear that he makes the defenders in front of him very nervous. It negatively impacts the way the whole team plays. He must be replaced this summer if we’re to improve next year."

Onana yet again gets a hand to it but can't keep it out. We know Onana has the slowest reactions and worst instincts of any keeper you'll ever see at this level. Which suggests to me if the keeper with the slowest reactions and instincts can get a hand to it, a competent keeper can keep that out.

I mean, the ball bounces off Shaw and bounces to Onana's right. After Shaw deflects the ball to Onana's right, Onana decides to take a step, to his left. I am not making this up. He decides it's a good idea to take a step in the opposite direction the ball is travelling. And then he's just incredibly slow to get down to the ball. Despite all this, he gets a hand to it. It is definitely saveable.

"Onana is a master at conceding "should probably do better" type goals, whilst having plausible deniability that it wasn't really a howler because it's all speculation whether it should be saved or not."
