Every new character is bad at release apparently...
Is this trend going to go on forever? First "Klee is trash". Then Childe kit is trash. Now Zhongli??? Can you pricks actually build the character before claiming stupid shit???
It's like the same people who dissed on xingqiu and bennet at launch. Now look at them....
I get lots of people enjoy running optimal set ups but at least figure the f character out before coming to conclusions ffs.
The problem with Zhongli is not him... It's geo... The game relies heavily on team com. That's why Xing benefits and suddenly turn S tier. Geo charas don't have such an advantage. They need to make a content in which shield users can shine. It's not there atm.

Having all -currently available-archon as ult-bot is a bit sad (venti and now zhongly).
His E requieres constelations if you want to get damage out of it without running 2 geo (and 2 geo aren't that great as long as melt/vaporize will be that much stronger also VV is a thing).
His ult is great, period (and sexy AF). But if you have the choice would you take venti/sucrose with VV for CC over petrify only?
If I got him out of random pull I would still use him for abyss as he will trivialize lot of floors.
The issue is that expectations were high and he is not at the level of those, so people are a bit disappointed, totaly normal reaction IMHO.

Absolute bullshit, you're misconstruing the arguments of the time just to farm karma.
There were explicit reasons cited for people not liking them and most of the reasons still stand till now.

Auto chain was clunky. It still is. Backswing on 3rd AA is super long.
Damage is locked behind animation cancelling. It still is. Good luck trying to do smooth damage without looping AA-Charged.
Nobody ever said she wasn't worth pulling and nobody with a brain doubted her damage. The window for auto cancelling is extremely generous, but this is reddit and we don't do skill here, only waifus and anti-meta.Generalizing their take as community consensus is bullshit.

Is not a hypercarry until c6. This is still true, because you need other well geared dps to fill in his downtime. He functions better as a burst support, but was explicitly marketed as a Hydro carry, which is the metric we judge him by. We expected Hydro Diluc, but they locked Hydro Diluc behind c6.
Is not recommended for low budget/resource players. This is still true, because other T0/T1 carries give you more consistent staying power with the same investment and their supports require little to no damage investment at the bare minimum as they don't need to fill carry downtimes. You run hypercarry/reaction bot/support/healer for the most part, with the latter 3 being low budget units.
He's a bad economic investment (both in-game and irl) unless you were desperate for a main carry or have an abundance of resources. Videos of well-geared Childe parties crushing content with nuke comps doesn't make him good for the average person. Whaling makes everything good. You could whale for Amber with perfect artifacts and Amos bow and she'd do good damage with the right setup. That said he does standard 5 star carry damage when he's not in his downtime. The issue is just that he gets to do what other carries do only half the time. Him being a niche AOE god with riptide overlaps doesn't matter because his output doesn't completely dwarf other unit combinations with the other main carries.
With all situations, there's no smoke without fire. Even if we consider that Zhongli isn't supposed to be a main carry, running a geo construct resonance team (e spam ult spam with geo mc) has to be hitting at least a certain damage benchmark for it to not be complete garbage, because the benchmark by which we judge viability, the Abyss, is ultimately a timed mode. You can mitigate damage (Zhongli's strength) by positioning and abusing iframes but nothing can make up for the lack of damage. Even if we're comparing utility, he has a hard bar to pass in his fellow 5 star Archon, Venti. Venti's NOT a niche character, extremely splashable in all comps and can single-handedly trivialize certain encounters. Zhongli doesn't have to be Venti tier, but he should be at least above certain other great utility 4 stars (basically Bennett) in terms of general usefulness.
You deserve upvotes my man. The "anti-meta" circlejerk on reddit is tiring. Some characters are better than others. Not all 5* are created equal.Teamcomps matter and not every character fits well into them where as some (Venti lol) can fit in virtually anything and improve it.

Usually I agree with meta "this character great" because the community has found the best way to use it. But for "this character sucks" I take it with a bit grain of salt, sometimes people just haven't found the way to use it yet, Klee and Xingqiu and Bennett rose up really quick even though nothing in-game has changed, people simply found out the best way to use them. Sucrose and Ningguang also rise a lot.

intinya karena singleplayer game, sesuai sepuh2 yg sebelomnya udah komeng : maen sesuka ente aja selama masih fun, klo gak ngerasa fun tinggal quit tunggu event baru (gacha games modelnya kek gini grind freebies dievent), klo ga mau grind event nunggu next update story juga oke tapi sepertinya requirement bakal terus naek(sotoy ) ngeliat story char yg terupdate mona ar38, childe & zhongli ar40.
