Chelsea could target RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, according to The Athletic.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is said to be keen to strengthen at centre-back for next season.

The Athletic suggest Upamecano could be a realistic option along with the likes of Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who continues to be touted for a move to the Premier League.

The Daily Star have suggested that Chelsea’s “smooth negotiations” with Leipzig over Timo Werner’s move to west London could help them agree a deal for Frenchman Upamecano.

Havertz speculation continues
Chelsea have reportedly opened negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen in an attempt to secure the signing of Kai Havertz.

The Express say talks are taking place between the clubs over a possible move for the winger.

It comes amid continued speculation over Havertz, who has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

The Express recently declared that Chelsea are favourites to sign him.

It was claimed that director Marina Granovskaia, who negotiates Chelsea transfers, is trying to see off competition from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who have also been linked with Havertz.

The Express’ story was based on an Italian journalist posting on Twitter that he believes Chelsea are “leading the race” to sign the Germany international.

Other recent reports have declared that Bayern are favourites to sign Havertz and that Chelsea are willing to pay £75m – apparently £15m less than the asking price.

There has also been speculation that the apparent asking price might drop if Leverkusen miss out on a Champions League spot.

The Mail, meanwhile, have claimed that Chelsea are turning their attention to Havertz’s Leverkusen team-mate Leon Bailey.

Henderson has impressed on loan at Sheffield United and has been touted as a possible long-term replacement for David De Gea at Old Trafford.

And it is claimed that Chelsea are looking to sign him when the transfer window reopens.

Henderson is among a host of keepers the Blues have been linked with amid speculation over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
