In the past, Cianjur was a developed regency in West Java even many part of Indonesia especially in education. When education enrollment was only 57 percent, Cianjur already acheive 75 percent.

If we look at that time, in Bali, many people from many regencies population dont go to school until complete. Illiteracy were high because low enrollment in school. Only little number of enrollment. Go to Jogja, same thing, only little number of people make low enrollment in some regency.

This make education really take for granted for southern regencies of West Java. Even in nothern part like Subang, Karawang, and Cirebon the same pattern happen. In Subang, 46 percent enroll in school while in Karawang 37 percent and Cirebon around 40 percent higher than Gunung Kidul in Jogja or Karangasem in Bali.

Another affluent regency, Bekasi also has a high education enrollment meanwhile Indramayu was pretty low.

Then what's the conclusion? It mean in 1950s, when education still rare in Indonesia, Cianjur people can enroll until around 75 percent, higher than many another regencies in Indonesia.

But right now it slow down and even going down in ranking. Now all nothern regencies especially Bekasi become very educated. Bali and Jogja also exceed the southern enrollment.

It show us that the government in southern West Java can't postpone education agenda to increase enrollment in order to keep southern as the most educated regencies across Java island even many part of Indonesia.
