Analysis of Literary Appreciation "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga
Lyric
BORN THIS WAY
By LADY GAGA
It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up 'cause you were born this way, baby
My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
"There's nothing wrong with loving who you are"
She said, "'Cause he made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way (Born this way)
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Right track baby I was born this way
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be don't be don't be
Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
So we can rejoice your truth
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe, yah
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Right track, baby I was born this way
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're Lebanese, you're Orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'Cause baby you were born this way
No matter gay, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to be brave
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way yeah
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way (Born this way)
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Right track, baby I was born this way
I was born this way hey
I was born this way hey
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey
I was born this way hey
I was born this way hey
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey
Same D.N.A. but born this way
Same D.N.A. but born this way

Analysis
I loved the song, Born This Wayby Lady Gaga. The lyrics style is so motivated people like me; the lyrics presented who someone to be your self although in a different way. The lyrics style, I could sense the character’s must be confident with herself as her lyrics the song from her own point of view. At the same time, lyrics style succeded to motivated people to be theirself. Even better, I felt as if I was in the same position I can say yes to be myself when she talked to me.
The song begins with the lyrics, “It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M” The Capital H-I-M meaning is God, in the belief of Christians, god is represented by a man. This is evidenced by the symbols on the church and the cross they worship. Just put your paws up 'cause you were born this way, baby” The lyrics was realize that the listener or reader was God has given that way.Than continue.
In the second stanza lyrics “My mama told me when I was young; we are all born superstar” meaning that this is told at this time, proven by the word “was and told” and their mother was told about hope to be “someone”. The hope of every parent for their child is to be “someone” who is successful at every step. So did my parents say. In the lyrics describes the daughter his mother loved to look beautiful, because in this case stated “She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on; in the glass of her boudoir”. But in the next Stanza ““There's nothing wrong with loving who you are”;She said, “Cause he made you perfect, babe”” explained that it is not a mistake to be your self, because someone who loves you accepts you for who you are. And the mother remainds her child “so hold your head up girl and you’ll go far; Listen to me when I say” do not be someone who has an arrogant personality when she has gone away from his parents and always remembers the message she has conveyed. Basically, a parents message is “sacred” where every parent gives the same message to each child.
The refrain “ I’m beautifull in my way, cause God makes no mistakes; I am the right track, baby I was born this way” affirm back to second stanza which discusses the existence of God in every path chosen and there is nothing wrong with that, just how someone realizes what they have chosen and become the way. Affirmation of the word “I am on the right track” that every path chosen is not a mistake and do not make regret “ Don’t hide your self in regret”. Enjoy the flow and love what you have chosen.
In the stanza after refrain “ Don’t be a Drag just be a Queen” in my opinion it is directed at being yourself must not be half totality. Drag here represents a Man who looks Woman, won’t a Man identity still been seen, when he tries to be a woman. Then the word “Queen” is intended to be a whole person. Next stanza, the selection of friends or circle of friends is very influential in accepting someone in the heart of his friend “Give yourself prudence and love your friends; so we can rejoice your truth” thus honesty will emanate from the bottom of the heart friendships lived accept us as we are. Even religion denies our existence in “ In the religion of the insecure” only ourseves can help, because the path chosen is truly his own responsibility. So make peace with yourself.
There is nothing wrong with love and affection, because God has created it, proven by the existence of God, as stated at the beginning of the lyrics “ A different lover is not a sin; Believe capital H-I-M (hey hey hey)”. Talking about Sin, in the stanza “No matter Gay,Straigh or Bi, Lesbian, Transgendered life” there is also a rejection made by the community to these people, because they are considered to violate social and religious norms, as evidenced by the many laws or regulations that prohibit such people from being in a contry even Indonesia. In Indonesia, the issue is considered a disgrace and is abnormal. But, in the lyrics the path they followed was the path they had chosen and they were fighting for it “I was born to survive”. The struggle took the form of contradictions from various parties and those who are opposed believe that there is nothing wrongon the basis of love, and I agree with the statement. This issue also related to previous lyrics “You’re Black, White, Beige, Chola descent your Lebanese or Orient” which leads to skin color and even race, where issue can also be found regarding Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered etc.
“Same D.N.A but born this way” in this last stanza, it means that in fact we as humans have the same D.N.A, that is as humans the same each others there is no difference. It is just that every human being has different way of life but doesn’t mean we lose our identity as human beings.
The conclution that I can take from this song is, do not make yourself like the other people, even though the path your takes is different path from the others does not mean you are different, you are still human. Do not make difference a big thing. That motivation is what you I took from this song, to be myself, even though the world rejected. Never wrong with love, because God has created it. That is all.
