Kasus April Jones, Peristiwa Hilangnya Bocah Perempuan Paling Menggegerkan di Inggris

April Jones

Polisi Rilis Gambar CCTV Terkait Mark Bridger
Pictured the moment the lies began: April's killer Mark Bridger arrives at police station after his arrest in never-before-seen CCTV
Wearing handcuffs and flanked by two police officers, this is April Jones murderer Mark Bridger as he is brought in for questioning for the first time after his arrest.
Newly released CCTV footage shows the slaughterhouse worker being taken into Aberystwyth police station the day after the five-year-old disappeared.
Police swooped on October 2 as he walked along a road on the outskirts of the Mid Wales market town of Machynlleth wearing the camouflage jacket and waterproof trousers seen in the images.

Distancing himself from a horrific crime: Prosecutors said Bridger 'relentlessly spun a web of lies and half-truths' ever since he was first interviewed by police
Prosecutors say Bridger 'spun a web of lies and half-truths' almost as soon as he was detained, forcing April's distraught parents to endure a five-week trial and refusing to say where he hid her body.
But his relentless deceit was promptly dismissed by a jury which today found him guilty of her murder and abduction after just four hours of deliberation.
After the trial, Ed Beltrami, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Wales, said: 'We welcome today’s verdict, which brings to a close a difficult and challenging prosecution.
'Ever since his first interview with police in October last year, Mark Bridger has relentlessly spun a web of lies and half-truths to try and distance himself from the truly horrific nature of the crime he perpetrated.

Danger to society: Bridger is taken away from Mold Crown Court today after being told by a judge that he will never be freed from prison
'He has refused to take responsibility for what he did to April and has stopped at nothing to try and cover his tracks.
'Despite his best efforts to evade justice, he has been brought to account by a highly professional investigation by Dyfed Powys Police, coupled with the diligence and hard work of the prosecution team.
'Working together, we have been able to comprehensively dismantle Bridger’s version of events and expose him as a violent, cold-hearted murderer and a calculated liar.'
April vanished while playing on her bike near her home in Machynlleth on October 1 last year and her body has never been found.

Twisted: Bridger's refusal to confess - either to murdering April or to where he had hidden her body - forced April's grieving parents Coral (second left) and Paul (second right) to endure weeks of harrowing evidence
Today, a jury of nine women and three men convicted Bridger, 47, of Ceinws, of abducting and murdering April and of unlawfully disposing of and concealing her body with intent to pervert the course of justice.
During the trial at Mold Crown Court, Bridger repeatedly wept as he painted a pathetic picture of himself as a man who had 'accidentally' run over April and then panicked before blacking out due to alcohol.
He also tried to explain away a sickening cache of child porn on his computer by saying they were used to study the development of his children.
Others, he said, had been stored there because he intended to complain to websites which were displaying the images.

Also, when pressed by police about why there were fragments of human skull in his wood burner, he claimed they were the remains of roast chicken he had cooked for a family meal.
The child-killer's refusal to confess - either to murdering April or to where he had hidden her body - forced the child's grieving parents to endure five weeks of harrowing evidence, causing her mother, Coral, to flee the courtroom on various occasions, distraught and in tears.
Bridger's heartless lies have also had a huge financial cost, with months of painstaking police searches, forensics, legal work and the money involved in providing him with security and transport to court each day of the trial costing the public as much as £9million.
The disappearance of April, who had cerebral palsy, sparked a massive outpouring of support for her family, with hundreds of people joining in the search.
After the sentencing Coral Jones, April's mother, said: 'We are relieved that Mark Bridger has today been found guilty of the murder of our beautiful daughter April.
'April will be forever in our hearts and we are so moved by the overwhelming support we have had from so many people all over the world.'
In court earlier, a statement read on behalf of April's parents revealed they still cannot enter her bedroom at home or sort through her clothes because they are so heartbroken.
They also felt deep guilt for letting April go out to play on her bike on the evening she was abducted by her killer.
