Berserk is a dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura. Miura premiered a prototype of Berserk in 1988. The first volume of the manga was published on November 26, 1990 by Hakusensha in its Jets Comics collection. Three more volumes were published. In 1992 the production was ended, and Berserk was serialized in Young Animal.

Berserk's setting is inspired by medieval Europe. It centers around the life of Guts, an orphaned mercenary warrior, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the Band of the Hawk. As he ages, Guts changes from a solitary boy into a man who realizes the value of camaraderie. The story contains elements of both fantasy and horror, as it explores both the best and worst of human nature. Both the manga and anime are noted for their heavy violence.



Collection info

Unlike other Berserk manga collections, I have personally gone through by hand and eye to ensure the collection is as neat and easy to read as possible.

• The entire collection has had all files renamed for a consistent filename system
  
• All the chapters in each volume are in a single folder for easy continuous reading
  
• Chapters have been put in order and double checked with the Wikipedia chapter list, and also the SkullKnight.net chapter list
  
• English chapter names have been added to all chapters in the collection
  
• Several pages that used erroneous fonts have been re-typeset myself

This is by no means a perfect collection, as there are still a few problems like strange grammar in some chapters, and sometimes missing text in bubbles, but I hope you find this collection the neatest and easiest to read Berserk manga collection available (outside of owning the official books)!
