2. What Is the TOEFL PBT Test?

The TOEFL PBT Test is a paper-based test that measures your ability of short-task listening (50 numbers), structure/grammar (40 numbers), reading comprehension (50 numbers), and also Test of Written English (TWE). Most of the questions are multiple-choice.

5. Do I have to take the TWE® test?

Yes. You have to take the TWE test if you are taking the TOEFL PBT. There is no additional charge for the TWE test.

6. If I am running out of time, should I guess or leave some answers blank?

*Make every effort to complete each section. Data indicate most test takers get higher scores if they finish the test.
*There is a chance that random guessing at the end of a section can seriously lower scores. The best strategy is to pace yourself so you have enough time to consider each question without guessing.

7. Where and When Can I Take the Paper-based Test?
The TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT) is offered six times a year. However, the official Indonesia ETS TOEFL PBT Test Centers are not available. The closest PBT TOEFL Test Center from Indonesia is only Papua New Guinea.

8. What Does PBT-TOEFL Cost?
The cost of the TOEFL PBT test is US$160. For information on registration, fees, test dates, locations and test formats, select the test location first to be sure the paper-based test is the right one for you.

Generally, universities look for a score of 80+ (PBT+550) for a bachelor and 100+ (PBT+600) for a master. In that way your score is fine.
Scores are posted online 15 business days after the test date (with a few exceptions) and then mailed to you and your designated score recipients. You can view your scores online for free after 15 days of your test. Test results cannot be given any sooner than 15 business days after the test date. Allow 7 to 10 days for delivery of mail within the continental U.S. and additional time for delivery to other areas
