PlayStation Network (PSN) kena hack (mungkin dah basi)

mungkin bukan berita baru lagi, tapi gak papalah sebagai nice inpo emoticon-Malu

pada bulan april, PSN kena hack yang mengakibatkan data pribadi usernya diketahui oleh para hacker, mau tau berapa jumlahnya? cuma 75 juta akun aja emoticon-Matabelo

, bahkan US Senator Richard Blumentha mengirim surat ke sony perihal kena hack tsb.

gak hanya sekali kena hack, sampai 3 kali kena hack malah, membuktikan kalau tingkat keamanan PSN gak aman.

sangking parahnya kejadian ini, pihak sony sampai meminta maaf secara official n menawarkan konten bebas biaya dan gratis berlanganan , berharap agar para korban bisa melupakannya emoticon-Nohope

Sony keukeuh lebih menyalahkan para hacker daripada mengakui kalau tingkat keamanannya gak bagus, dengan mengatakan kalau tindakan tsb adalah cyber terorism.

Sony has admitted that as a result of the hack which prompted it to take the PSN offline, hackers have stolen the personal data of all of its users, including their name and address, date of birth, passwords and security questions, purchase history and possibly credit card info.

So-net reported that their points system was hacked by an unknown third party who had made thousands of unauthorised accesses prior to the incident coming to light.

Absolute damages where relatively limited 128 customers had loyalty points (redeemable for the usual junk) stolen, with total equivalent losses amounting to approximately ¥100,000.

In addition to the points theft, hackers also gained access to the email of a further 90 customers.

In addition to the performance visible at the press conference, Sony is offering free access to unspecified PSN content (thought to include games), and a free month of PlayStation Plus premium PSN membership and a month of Qriocity access.

However, as these offerings require users to actually supply or continue to supply Sony with their personal details, there is likely to be a certain amount of resistance the free month of Plus membership has already been derided as being little more than advertising.

Just whether credit card details were lost is still not being made clear Sony says personal data, including hashed passwords, was definitely compromised, credit card numbers and expiry dates may have been leaked, and credit card security definitely were not leaked.

Sony denies any fraudulent card use has occurred, although how they can be so sure when they cannot confirm whether the card details were leaked or not is not clear.

Sony has also for the first time (very quietly) given users the ability to fully close their PSN accounts (although only by asking customer services to do so), which was previously not possible.

There has been speculation that the inability to close a PSN account was a cheap ploy to inflate the number of PSN users for PR/IR purposes, a practice now clearly untenable.

Sony is keen to blame the hackers rather than its own lacklustre security, saying it was an act of high-tech cyber-terrorism and revealing that it has enlisted the FBI to help find it a suitable scapegoat.
