Introduction to Deepwater Riser
Riser :
a single/multiple pipes used to convey fluids (e.g. oil, gas, or water) from bottom to top and vice versa.
Type of Deepwater Riser :
Top Tension Riser
The concept is supported in the floater by providing top tension force in order to maintain acceptable vertical movement.
Typically are applied for dry tree production like TLP/Spar.
Compliant Riser:
Provides flexibility to cope with floater motions.
Type of Compliant Riser:
Hybrid Riser
Combination between Top Tension Riser and Compliant riser.
