Apa sih MMO itu?

banyak jenis MMO ada yang jenis nya RPG, FPS ,RTS, Musical, Sports dsb.
MMO adalah game yang melibatkan ribuan player online dalam waktu bersamaan di mana kita butuh berinteraksi dengan karakter lain di permainan ini untuk menyelasaikan Quest dan misi kita untuk mencapai level tertentu, item bagus, dan sebagainya.

Introduction
There will be no subscription fee for Guild Wars 2, and players just buy the game and play it online without paying a monthly fee. A character can be used to play any game mode available in Guild Wars 2: PvE, Structured PvP and World PvP. A player may still have multiple characters.
Improvements to the engine include true 3D environments, enhanced graphics and animations and the use of the Havok physics system and this will do justice to the concept art for the game and concept art will be integrated into the way the story is told to the player. Polygon counts and texture allowances have been increased and the game will support DirectX 10, but not require it to play.

Guild Wars 2 is trying to deal with that issue by using a system with a high level cap once that could be set to 100 or even boundless. But the magnitude of the level cap raise is still unknown. There will be a plateau of power, where each level no longer adds as much to the power of the character. A side-kick system has been mentioned which would allow characters of a lower level to play with high level characters without disadvantage. The sidekicking system, similar to that used in "City of Heroes", will be be introduced allowing high-level characters to transfer their powers to lower-level characters and entry to e-sport type PvP will grant access to all skills, items and provide a fixed level. In a departure from the high number skills present in Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2 will focus on quality of skills over quantity and will also reduce the overall number of game modes to reduce balancing complexity.

The skill system will be modified. There will be fewer, less complex skills which may behave differently in different situations. A system similar to the limited 8 skill system will be used.
The professions are being designed to be viable for both solo and group play. A primary and secondary profession system will be used. It is currently not known if any professions from the original Guild Wars will return, and the profession count is unknown.
Besides these significant changes to the game, Guild Wars 2 will also introduce plenty of smaller ones, like the ability for your characters to do things like jump, swim, even climb trees.
Guild Wars 2 PvP System
There will be two types of PvP available in Guild Wars 2; World PvP and Structured PvP(interview and more).
World PvP will allow you to play characters of any level. It is intended to be a more relaxed bridging point between PvE and structured PvP. It will be on a larger scale than the original Guild Wars PvP with large battles which could take place over a long period with people coming and going.
RTS elements will be added into World PvP. The World PvP Maps bear a resemblance to RTS-maps and give you a chance to play different roles. You can conquer stone mines, which will then deliver stone by caravan to your catapults, you can attack and cut off caravans of the enemy, you can operate as a scout and inform the rest of hostile movement, you can man watchtowers and defend, or you can just run up to a lost PvP'er and teach him a lesson.
Each battle will have a number of different objectives which can be met such as taking guard towers or defending choke points or joining a larger battle to take a castle. Battles will take place in the Mists.
Victory in World PvP will confer benefits to your world. This may include improved drop rates, better energy regeneration or other bonuses.

Structured PvP is similar to today's GvG. Structured PvP-participants will have access to the same skills and gear, which ensures survival is indeed of the fittest (and most strategic), not the one that has spent the most time online. It will allow you to enter the game at maximum level with all skills, races, items and classes automatically unlocked.
Party size in World PvP has no limit, and you can charge into a limitless battle

The Grove Assumed to be the location of the Pale Tree that grows the Sylvari race. The Sylvari capital/starting location may be here or near the Henge of Denravi, but this is not confirmed.(Working)
Durmand Priory is a monastery hidden in the Shiverpeaks. It contains many volumes of information rescued from Lion's Arch during the flood by the Order of Whispers, who remain its guardians to this day. It is named after Durmand, a master Historian who established the truth about the rise of the White Mantle, the Tengu accords and the Battle of Jahai, among other things.
Kodan Iceberg Home of new polar bear race, the Kodan.

Ebonhawke Last Ascalon stronghold versus the Charr. Located where the Blazeridge and Shiverpeak Mountains merge. Probable location of some casual PvP events. Probable outpost that leads to Charr controlled areas of Ascalon.

Lion's Arch The new "Battle Isles", populated by pirates, mercenaries and the priests of Balthazar. Here will probably be GvG battles, the GW2 version of Hero's Hall, and other PvP events.
Ascalon City Now a literal ghost city, the eternal defenders of Ascalon fight friend and foe alike. (Expect Mission to return legendary swords to their rightful owners to quell the spirit of King Adelbern and his followers).
Corrupted Orr Orrian dragon Zhaitan's homebase, will probably be end-game or elite area. "Only the greatest of heroes dare venture within the ruined cities of Orr; to adventure there is to face the dragon and its minions directly, and that creature's power is not to be underestimated."
Sorrow's Furnace confirmed to be in GW2 by Ree Soesbee in interview. Possibly controlled by Dredge.
Hrangmer After the fall of the Titans and Kalla Scorchrazors rebellion, the Flame Legion was overthrown and cast down. With their mystic power shattered and their Shamans reviled, they barely had enough strength left to fight off the other legions and stay alive. The broken legion retreated northeast to their primary citadel at Hrangmer.
