A slacker, but incredibly talented guitarist, he inspires Koyuki to begin playing guitar. He is the lead guitarist of BECK as well as its founding member. A large amount of the story revolves around him and his Gibson Les Paul guitar, named Prudence (Lucille in the original version, which is the same name of B.B. King's famous black Gibson), that has a somewhat dark history.
Maho Minami (南 真帆, Minami Maho)

Maho is Ryûsuke's younger sister and a talented singer. She is brash but emotionally fragile, and gradually builds a romantic relationship with Koyuki.
Ken'ichi Saitou (斉藤 研一, Saitō Ken'ichi)

Saitou teaches Koyuki both guitar and swimming. Though he can be a demanding instructor, he opens up to Koyuki, even asking him for relationship advice on occasion.

BECK's bassist, Taira is the first member recruited by Ryûsuke. Although he can sometimes seem uncaring or apathetic, he is actually the most mature of the band members and often offers helpful advice. Tsunemi Chiba (千葉 恒美, Chiba Tsunemi)

The main vocalist for BECK, Chiba's vocals are more punk- and rap-oriented than Koyuki's and thus more fitting for the majority of Beck's songs. Chiba's inclusion in the band was that originally during a baseball game early in the series it was brought to Ryusuke's attention that he was a vocalist with a great presence on stage.
Yuji "Saku" Sakurai (桜井 裕志, Sakurai Yūji)

According to Anime News Network, Harold Sakuishi's Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad is going to be turned into a Live Action movie. The filming will start in July under the direction of Tsutsumi Yukihiko, who also directed 20th Century Boys Live Action. It is scheduled to open in fall 2010. The movie will focus on Ray (Minami Ryusuke) instead of Koyuki (Tanaka Yukio), who will be played by Mizushima Hiro and Sato Takeru.
CAST :
Mizushima Hiro as Ray
Mizushima lived in Switzerland in his younger years. I am sure his proficiency in English help him won the roll.
Takeru Sato as Koyuki
Nakamura Aoi as Saku
He is the only cast member under the age of 20. I guess the baby face appearance of the casts fit them in their characters whose age are obviously younger than the actors.
Mukai Osamu as Taira
I would like to post his picture in Mei-chan no Shitsuji, but it will just make the actor line up ever sadder. Hint: He is the most noticable out of them all~~ Yes, the one with white hair. *wink*
Kiritani Kenta as Chiba
The only 'better' looking of them all. I read a forum thread saying that he might look like Chiba if he has an afro. In the boy band formula there's always that one worse looking guy who makes the other members look much preetier. Kiritani-san, I am by no means saying that you are ugly, you are better looking than the average population, but in this movie, you are that person.

Remember the white butler, Shinobu from Mei-Chan? Yes. This is him blonde. Not white-haired. Although Im not a fan of his character in Mei-chan, he looks better there than in BECK, i think. But I know hes been training hard for his role as a bassist, that he even put up the pic of the guitar hes been practicing with on his blog!

I am certain that he will make a great Chiba. Watching ROOKIES made me like him because of the humor he puts into his character. So this is going to be awesome. Yeah! I hope he raps great. Even if I am not such a fan of rap.

They killed his eyebrows!I keeeel them! Darn. Okay, so maybe he looks so like Ryusuke now that you cant really tell any difference between them but they didnt need to overdo it you know. =x Hes going to do great as Ryusuke because his English is impeccable, not sure about his guitar skills though but I cant wait. Even if he doesnt sing much, just hearing a bit of his singing voice will surely get the fangirls crazy. I know I will. Hehe.
