Software Piracy in Indonesia is Worse than China
The Business Software Alliance assesses that piracy especially regarding ip Indonesia has only decreased by 1 percent, from 84 percent to 83 percent due to the lack of law enforcement on copyright.

"The law in Indonesia already exists, it's just that there is still a lack of enforcement," said Tarun Sawney, Senior Director, Business Software Alliance, an organization that campaigns for the use of genuine devices, when met at Microsoft's office in Singapore, Tuesday (30/10).

Management and regulation of copyright issues in Indonesia are handled by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. However, BSA considers that there is no specific legal instrument aimed at taking action against perpetrators of violating these rules.

The decline in the use of pirated software in Indonesia is even worse than the Asia Pacific average which fell 4 percent to 57 percent from 61 percent in 2015.

This was revealed from a survey conducted by BSA on the BSA 2017 Global Software Survey conducted with IDC. The survey was conducted in 110 countries with more than 22,500 PC users and 2,300 policy makers in the IT sector.
