I really love to watch Hotel Mumbai even though the movie makes my emotions like a roller coaster. I have mix feeling such as scared, sad, and angry.

Hotel Mumbaiis a movie based on true event about the Islamist militant Lashkar-e-Taiba. They attacked many places in Mumbai started from CST Station until Taj Hotel. This is biographical thriller film in 2018 because in two hours we can see bloody scenes and tense actions from both of the terrorists and victims. Those victims becomes a hero on their own way because there is no such a hero with the wind on their back. Furthermore, this is unusual terror movie where the terrorist describe as evil and cruel, they have humanity in this film. This excellent movie was made by genius Anthony Maras as the director and Maras and John Collee aa the co-writers. Also, the stars of this movie are Dev Vatel ( Arjun ), Anupam Kher ( Hemant Oberoi ), Nazanin Boniadi ( Zahra ), Armie Hamner ( David ), Jason Isaacs ( Vasili ), Amandeep Singh ( Imran ), and many more.

This film contains racism issue. There are a lot of scenes that I think lead to the act of racism. Racism itself is prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

The story begins with ten young terrorist on the rubber boat, skimming across the sea. They are going to India from Afghanistan. They will kill India people because most of them are non-moeslim. They want to take revenge on what Indian did to Afghanistan back then. While doing the mission, each of them having earphones so they can connect to their boss called Brother Bull that we can never see his face until the end of the movie. In this scene Bull persuades them by saying “Fod is with you. Paradise awaits you. Allahu Akbar!!!” as if what they are going to do next are the rightest things to prove how devote they are to their God and religion.

The next scene is they arrived at CRT Station. Two of them shoots innocent people with shotgun. This station turns into river blood because there are so many people die. In this station we can see a lot of Indian get killed. None of the victims using Islamic clothes. This is racism because they think their religion is more superior and what they done is one of the religion order, do jihad.

After killing them in CST Station. They They moved to Taj Hotel. Taj Hotel takes place the most in this movie. Taj Hotel is full of international tourist, top celebrities, and people who have money. Inside this hotel, the racism not only shows from the terrorist action but the English lady is also do the same. She accuses the Indian girl named Zahra one of the terrorist because she is using Indian language. Also, the lady is afraid of Arjun ( the hotel waiter ) who has a beard and using turban. She thinks that he is a terrorist because there is stereotype terrorists are moeslims. Most of moeslims man have beard and wear turban in India.In the slogan of Taj Hotel "Guest is God" that he hold, he will take it off to make the lady comfortable even though the turban means so much to him. It is about his pride. This is racism through prejudice.

Furthermore, still in Taj Hotel. The terrorist shoot Bree a Mongolian girl who wants to escape but get killed in the end because they only want white people. This is racist stereotype, people tend to think that white people is on top of the world. But then, they arrested David ( Zahra's husband, American ) they do not shoot him right away. They take him to a room first then tied him up, same goes to Vasilli.

Then, after knowing who Vasili is the Bull command them to kill those white people because they are not important anymore. They did it. Then Bull order them to kill all of them no exception but here Imran ( one of the terrorist ) can not kill Zahra because she is performing salah. He knows the woman is moeslims same as him. When Bull forces him to kill her. He lies and says he already killed her.

In conclusion, this film describes that racism will never go right. They always end up hurt people. In small scale, racism can end up in peace but for large scale, it can be hatred from inside their flesh and bones and lead to genocide just like what Imran and his friends did. In my opinion, racism can never fade to black. It always be there when people has differences in skin color, religion, language, or nation. We can not stop racism but we can stop our mouth from saying racist words.
