Reverends in Kupang Call for Arrests of Rizieq, Ahmad Dhani

TEMPO.CO, Kupang - A number of reverends in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara joined in the Meo Brigade on Thursday, November 10, 2016, rallied to the East Nusa Tenggara Police demanding an arrest of Islamic Defender Front (FPI) chairman Habib Rizieq Shihab.

According to the reverends, Rizieq must be charged for insulting state ideology Pancasila and the President, as well as initiating an endeavor to break the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

During the rally, Meo Brigade issued a statement signed by Meo Brigade chairman Adi Ndiy and secretary Ivan Bartles.

“Habib Rizieq must be arrested and legally processed,” Reverend Ady Ndiy said during an oration in front of the East Nusa Tenggara Police headquarter.

In addition to calling for Rizieq’s arrest, the reverends urged the government to disband the FPI, the Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), and other radical mass organizations for being intimidating, causing troubles, and disrupting peace in Indonesia.

“There should be no room for such mass organizations in Indonesia,” the statement letter says.

The reverends also called for an end to discrimination against minorities and non-Muslims in the country.

In addition to Habib Rizieq, the reverends also urged police to arrest local celebrity Ahmad Dhani, Ustaz Sulaiman, and Buni Yani for the same reason. The reverends threatened that they would organize a massive rally if their demands were not to be met by the police and military.

The reverends have given the government two weeks to meet the demands.

East indonesia would not welcome basuki be injustice, and the muslim statement the leader must from muslim could tear indonesia nation. They would think we would not be welcome to goverment indonesia teritory and didn't have fair chance to lead indonesia.

This would boil east indonesia and seperation act would happend they would feel like been colonial by java.

The next butterfly effect would tear indonesia to become west indonesia (who most ly muslim) and east indonesia (mostly christian or chatolic) if that butterfly effect happened.

The muslim could cooling this situasion by accpted the apolgy from basuki but many muslim organisation didnt accepted the apolgy so this situation exalated to this, if jokowi sacrifice the basuki the east indonesia would boil, i hope this incident would not happend.
