http://www.wargame-rd.com/.Wargame: European Escalation,Wargame Airland Battle, the new real time strategy game from Eugen Systems, a specialist of the genre and developer of the critically-lauded Act of War: Direct Action, and more recently R.U.S.E.™.
The tension is ramping up in Wargame Red Dragon! The latest game in the spectacular RTS series created by developers Eugen Systems can today reveal the very first teaser video that takes us to the heart of Asia and the scenes of the next clashes of Wargame.
The NATO and Pact armies and their allies finally deploy in Asia. This first Red Dragon video gives us a taste of the strategic and pyrotechnical delights in store for you in this new Wargame title, which takes place at the start of a new major armed conflict. You can look forward to new factions, new units and combat vehicles (for a total of over 1,300!) and, in particular, the introduction of naval units: the landing craft, amphibian vehicles and warships will thrill fans of complex strategies, who will now be able to include the waterways as an integral part of their tactics!
More ambitious than Wargame AirLand Battle, Wargame Red Dragon essentially retains the same game mechanics that made the series so successful, but the action leaves Europe for the first time and shifts to a conflict in central Asia between 1975 and 1991, and adding loads of new features. 5 new nations, among which China and North Korea, join the armed forces in Wargame with over 450 new units. The introduction of naval and amphibian units is a particular highlight, and the maritime and river areas provide fresh strategic opportunities! A new solo campaign plunges players headlong into a hellish war around Korea, while Wargame's extensive, road-tested multiplayer mode will engage them in some intense and spectacular battles with up to 20 other players simultaneously!

- Destroyers & Frigates(over 80m long) will be the flagships by taking the role of naval command vehicles, hence being able to seize control of naval reinforcement zones. Covered with weapons, the destroyers will be the mightiest ships to sail in Red Dragon. The Japanese Kongo & Soviet Udaloy II destroyers, respectively 161m et 163m long, will be the Kings of the High Seas.
Lafayette Class frigate
- Corvettes are smaller combat boats (30-90m), either designed for pure naval warfare (anti-ship missiles, …) or with some ground support weaponry (MLRS, mortar, …). Usually faster than their bigger brethen, they will be the scouts and main frontline ships of the naval forces. The South Korean Pohang corvette will be among the biggest of its kind, while the ubiquitous Soviet Osa (used by pretty much every communist state in the world) will be among the smallest.
- Patrol boats (under 30m long) will be the smallest boats, with light weaponry. Like ants among giants, they will, unlike the bigger boats, be able to leave the sea to penetrate inland through rivers, and thus act as support weapon platforms for the ground troops. My personal favorite being the Vietnam-era Monitor “Zippo”.
Boats will be armed with a wide array of weaponry, ranging from mere MGs to anti-ship missiles, autocannon, howitzer, SAM …
But a major new game mechanics will be introduced by point-defense weapon systems, designed to engage and intercept enemy missiles before impact. Thus, the biggest and best protected ships shall withstand a volley of missiles by shooting down most of them!
