Ukrainian company "Ukrinmash", "daughter of" concern "Ukroboronprom", signed with the American company Barrett Firearms Manufacturing contract for the supply of large-caliber sniper rifles, according to Altair. The details of the contract - the number of weapons, the type, cost and delivery is unknown. New sniper rifles are expected to be delivered to the forces of special operations and the National guard of Ukraine.
The most common sniper rifle company Barrett M82 is produced today in versions M82A1 and M107A1. Such weapons currently in service more than 40 countries, including Ukraine's neighbouring Poland. The rifle is available chambered for caliber 12,7x99 NATO. In addition, Barrett produces a sniper rifle M95 and M99 with a longitudinally-sliding rotating bolt made according to the scheme "bullpup".
