In the early eighties, the Pentagon began a research program aimed at creating advanced equipment for the Army. It was supposed to create some new combat vehicles for various purposes, including the main tank. Tank, developed under the new program was to be a replacement for existing combat vehicles M1 Abrams. Further development of the tanks it was decided to carry on the way to improve existing machines M1 Abrams family without any major design changes. Tank yg sudah "Battle Proven" spt diatas, ternyata masih akan di refitt agar lebih sangar, namun karena masalah ekonomi mungkin pengembangan dan refitt akan di massukan ke lemari pendingin dulu.
Belum pernah baca atau mendengar dalam beberapa pertempuran yg ada di abad XXI ada perang tank di palagan perang, misalnya PT -72 /90 bertempur dengan tank Leo, atau Abrams atau Lerlec.
Yang biasa saya baca adalah, pertempuran antara MBT atau tank lain di "hajar" oleh RPG atau oleh ATGM, namun untuk MBT walau sudah di hujani peluru RPG tetap lenggang kangkung gpp, katanya.
Mungkin ada dari para formil yg dapat memberi info perihal palagan perang
