Asian air force buys Innocon's MicroFalcon II

Mini Falcon II - A medium size UAV weighing 150kg and capable of 18 flight hours and 15,000 feet of altitude, this UAV carries a wide range of payloads for a variety of functions including day/night observation, photography, target location and acquisition, laser designation, etc.



Israeli unmanned air systems manufacturer Innocon has won a contract to supply its MiniFalcon II to the air force of an Asian country.

Innocon chief executive Michael Armon says the deal is for six systems, with each consisting of a ground control station and three air vehicles. The contract is worth "a few million US dollars", he adds, with deliveries to begin in July 2014.

The MiniFalcon II is a tactical UAS with a maximum take-off weight of 170kg (375lb), and a maximum 15h flight endurance at altitudes up to 15,000ft (4,570m). The aircraft has a payload capacity of 35kg, enabling it to carry an electro-optical/infrared sensor and laser designator for targeting purpose
