Moving Out - The FH-2000 convoy moves out from Waiouru Military Camp to the training area to prepare for live-firing.
Gathering Weather Data - Before the live-firing exercise commence, soldiers managing the Field Artillery Meteorological System (FAMS) release a helium balloon to measure various weather conditions that may affect the accuracy of the live-firing, such as wind direction, speed, and air density.
Getting Into Position - Soldiers from 21st Battalion, Singapore Artillery (21 SA) put the FH-2000 platform in position to prepare for the live-firing.
Directing The Guns - Using the G11 Director, a Gunnery Assistant ensures that the guns are positioned accurately.
About 470 soldiers, from 21st Battalion, Singapore Artillery (21 SA) and 24 SA participated in Exercise Thunder Warrior 2013 at the Waiouru Training Area in New Zealand from 13 to 30 January. Held annually since 1997, Exercise Thunder Warrior was elevated to a battalion-level exercise in 1999. This year's exercise aimed to hone the operational competencies of Artillery sensors and shooters through an integrated Field Artillery Training Evaluation Programme (FATEP).
