What are the best ways to lose weight?

As a ultramarathon runner, I have run thousands and thousands of kilometres over the years and experience has taught me that no amount of exercise can nullify the effects of a bad diet.



What you put in your mouth is more important regarding weight loss than exercise is. I'm not saying that exercise is not beneficial (of course it is!) but when considering weight loss: what you put in your mouth carries more weight (pun intended!) than how often and to what intensity you exercise.



In addition to the above answer



a. Don't be a lazy couch potato



b. Take the stairs



c. Go to bed on a light stomach



d. If someplace is within walking distance, WALK ...



e. Drink 1 glass each lukewarm water plus lemon lukewarm water daily in the morning.



f. Avoid Spicy food during this weight loss process.



g. Do yoga on regular basis.



h. Avoid dinner. Instead of that drink a glass of milk at bed time daily.



i. Eat protein rich food in diet.





One of my resolutions this year had been to focus on fitness. It has been 3 months and I already love the journey.



All you have to do is make healthier foods choices. That is literally 80% of the journey.



Substitute:

1. Soft drinks with water. Lots and lots of water



2. Fried products with grilled or roasted products



3. Unhealthy snacks with salad, fruits or nuts



4. Whi rice/ bread with brown rice/ bread



5. Dairy milk with plant based milk (eg almond milk, soy milk)



6. Desserts with fruits containing natural sugar



7. Excess carbohydrates and fats with proteins



Try healthy food for a few months, along with workouts for 4-5 hours a week, and you’ll start noticing the difference!
