KOMPAS.com - YouTube telah menambahkan fitur untuk memperbesar gambar atau video dengan fitur pinch-to-zoom. Dengan gerakan mencubit (menyapukan jempol dan jari telunjuk) ke arah luar, penonton YouTube di smartphone bisa memperbesar tampilan.
Gerakan mencubit yang dimaksud sama dengan gerakan seperti ketika hendak memperbesar gambar pada galeri atau foto yang muncul di feed Instagram.
Sayangnya, fitur ini baru bisa digunakan di smartphone dengan layar yang memiliki aspek rasio lebih besar dari 16:9.
Seperti diketahui, smartphone-smartphone seri terbaru kini mengusung aspek rasio layar yang lebih lebar, seperti iPhone X dan Galaxy S8 dengan rasio layar 18,5:9.
Fitur mencubit untuk memperbesar tampilan ini hadir di pembaruan atau update YouTube versi 12.44 yang dirilis pada 15 November lalu.
Perlu diketahui, ketika melakukan zooming atau memperbesar video yang sedang ditonton, maka sisi-sisi video tersebut bakal terpotong.

Kabarnya, fitur ini bakal hadir di smartphone seri lain di berbagai macam ukuran aspek rasio. YouTube versi lawas di Android belum memiliki fitur ini, sehingga jika ingin menjajal bagaimana fitur ini bekerja, pengguna harus melakukan pembaruan ke YouTube versi 12.44 di PlayStore.
