History of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IX hereinafter referred to PTPN IX begans with the incorporation of several plantation companies, PT Perkebunan XVIII (Persero) which manages rubber, tea, coffee and cocoa PT Perkebunan XV - XVI (Persero) which manages the commodity sugar and molasses. PTPN IX officially established on March 11, 1996.
In accordance with Government Regulation No. 72 Year 2014 on Increase in Investment of the Republic of Indonesia to the Capital Stock Company (Persero) PTPN III, 90% (ninety percent) of the shares of PTPN IX transferred to PTPN III (Persero).
In order to consolidate the organization and to support its operations, since 2002 PTPN IX move head office to Semarang from the previous location in Surakarta. Consolidation of the organization is also followed by the placement of the Perenial Crops Division Office located in Semarang, which manages 15 (fifteen) plantation along with commodity processing plants and 1 unit of non-farm businesses as well as placing the Office of Seasonal Crops Division in Surakarta which manages the cultivation and management of 8 (eight) Sugar Factory in Central Java.
In 2014, PTPN IX has a total area of 26.603,21 hectares Rubber, Tea 1.316,98 ha, coffee 1.088,55 ha and 32.024,47 ha Sugarcane acreage consisting of its own sugarcane and farmer sugarcane 349,89 ha - 31.674,58 ha. Rubber production 23.911 tons, 1.890 tons of tea, coffee 686,48 tons and 150.703 tons sugar, molasses 98 239 tons. PTPN IX revenue to IDR 1.246 billion and posted a loss of IDR 259,01 billion, with total assets of IDR 2.409 billion.
