Background
Bornevia is the first CRM startup company based on Jakarta, Indonesia with over 550 customers from over 45 countries around the globe. We received seed funding back in August 2013. We will be closing the next round of funding in the near future and we are looking to expand our engineering team size to scale and accelerate our growth.


Role/Responsibility

• The engineer is responsible for implementing new features on Bornevia back-end and front-end system using Javascript, Ruby, or SQL.
  
• Assumes responsibility for planning, design, implementation, and testing for assigned new features under the guidance of a project manager.
  
• Follow accepted coding standards and best practices, using agile software development methodologies and embedding quality in every aspect of the delivery life cycle.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science (IT) or related field required, fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
  
• Ability to independently perform systems analysis and abstract application requirements from real-world processes. Ability to work with non-technical users to determine needs and move from general ideas to specific systems.
  
• Programming language required: Javascript, HTML, Ruby, and SQL. If you know or have used at least two of these languages, you might consider applying.
  
• Solid understanding of OOP.
  
• Willing to learn new framework/new programming language.
  

Ideal candidate

• Knows how web applications work in general.
  
• Strong algorithm background & understanding.
  
• Experience with Unix/Linux terminal commands.
  
• Knowledge of building RESTful APIs.
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, specifically other developers and web designer.
  
• Excellent documentation skills.
  
• Efficient debugging and problem solving skills.
  
• Hard worker and has great desire to learn anything.
  
• Attentive to detail and accuracy.
  
• Demonstrate clear progress and a willingness to advance towards a more senior role.
  

Big pluses (Optional)

• Knows how to use git for source code collaboration.
  
• An active Github/Bitbucket user.
  
• Knowledge about Ruby on Rails and Node.js is highly desirable.
  
• Experience with Redis.
  
• Understanding of Comet concept and its solutions, such as Ajax, Bayeux, and Websocket.
  
• Can communicate in English fluently.
